The Magic Carpet Ride

Zaam! A large lightning bolt flew across the sky hitting the old treehouse in the massive oak tree. The bolt of light shot through the window and hit the carpet that was resting on the wooden floor. "Whoa, what was that?" screamed Ali.

"I don’t know but it really scared me," replied Twani.

Suddenly the carpet started to shake and glow as bright as the morning sun. "What’s happening?" yelled Twani.

The carpet began to slowly float to the ceiling of the wooden treehouse.

"This is freaky" squeaked Ali as he stood against the treehouse wall.

"I don’t like this," whined Twani.

The mystery of the floating carpet sparked Ali’s curious mind. I wonder what would happen if we jumped on it, he thought to himself. Ali grabbed Twani and threw her on the carpet and jumped on too. The carpet seemed to come to life and started to spin like a top.

"AHHHHHHH!" screamed Twani

"I want my mommy," yelled Ali.

The carpet shot out the window like a rocket ship across the neighbourhood. It raced up and down the side of a large apartment building.

"Hey there is my apartment," shouted Twani as she held on tightly.

The carpet raced around their neighbourhood for a couple of minutes and then it took off past the CN Tower and over Lake Ontario. It quickly disappeared behind a cloud.

The carpet continued to fly going higher and faster as every 5 minutes passed. As the carpet flew day turned into night and Ali and Twani fell asleep. When they woke up the carpet was still going fast.

Twani got cold while they were behind the cloud. But they were only behind there for a little while. "WHOH" twani shouted.

"luckly we didn’t bang in to it" said Ali with a sigh of relief.

"What was that anyway?" asked Twani.

"It was an aeroplane" said Ali.

"To be honest, I don’t think we're in Canada anymore.

"I agree, we’ve been on this carpet for 7 hours." groaned Twani.

"Look there's a country. Let's go there" said Ali

They both leaned forward so they went towards the country which was England.

 Over the sea it flew faster and faster it went. Until it landed with a big bump on top of Big Ben. Unfortunately Ali and Twani had landed just as it struck midnight. They were just about to wobble off when the carpet saved them. "Thank you carpet" said Ali.

Then it set off again over the country to Yorkshire there were not as many houses here as in London. They landed at a school called Ackworth. There was another building called Coram House.
" This school is big" said Twani. "Yes" said Ali. " Let’s explore" said Ali. So the carpet set off and took them to the swimming pool where they had a swim. After the look around Ackworth School, they set off yet again and went around to Doncaster where they were going down the race track with the horses.

"This ride is cool!" Said Twani. They was been very careful because they might get seen by someone. They stopped for lunch at a service station on the A1.

Then this kid came and said "hi I’m Tom and you look like you just landed. Well you’re in Yorkshire in the countryside. Hey - will you take me to the world cup in Japan, England are playing Brazil ". "Sure" said Twami and off they went. But as they were flying along a plane went by and the captain told them the result so they all decided to go to Brazil for the party instead . . .
